Welcome Back Skype Session

So I have just got off of the welcome back Skype session with the course tutors and fellow tutees.  I have left the session fully excited to embrace module two and begin the next stage of my learning.

For those unable to attend for whatever reason I think it's important to outline what was talked about so you do not feel lost.  Unfortunately I was unable to attend the opening Skype schedule for reasons I will not bore you with, but as a result I found myself 'lost' when it came to approaching module one.  I ended up making more work for myself by buying books and navigating countless websites for my reading lists as well as trying to access all I fully needed for the course.

Thankfully this session has shown me just how straight forward it is, assuming you are not all technophobes like myself.  I am pleased to say that the new style course is looking awesome and the new section of the website is very easy to navigate.

Once in unihub you need to go to 'my courses' and everything you need is right there for you to access.  I, in particular, am looking forward to accessing the library and finally being able to focus on my reading and expanding my knowledge through the appropriate channels.  I am approaching this from a teaching perspective as that is where my practice is currently taking me.  I am interested to meet others that are approaching from this angle also in order to share and develop ideas.

My tip for everyone, particularly those new to the course, would be to make life easy for yourself.  We are all embarking on this whilst working, so lead busy lives.  Play around and explore unihub, I will be doing more of that this time, as during module one I definitely made life harder for myself.  It really is all there at the touch of a button.  Also don't be afraid to speak to people and ask questions.  I held back a lot last time through fear of sounding stupid, particularly with technology as it is such an issue for me.

Good luck everyone, embrace and learn and you'll be fantastic.

    1. Thank you, I try to keep it as honest as I can, as I feel that is the best way to reflect and focus on what I am doing, and it enables me to move forward. I am glad you found it useful. I am hoping to blog either tonight or tomorrow on a CPD that I had at school on Friday that was all about research. I'm hoping I can use it as part of this course and that I can impart my knowledge of what I have learnt with others.
