Artefact
As we are fast approaching the deadline for the final submission my attention is drawn to the production of my artefact.
I am planning on creating a picture that charts my journey from the start of my inquiry process to the end of it. I have chosen a visual for two reasons. The main reason is that visual tools are a staple in our institute for highlighting trainings and experiences. Crucial trainings are often drawn by an artist who comes into our school to enhance our experience of it and to recap the key points of the meeting. For example...
However, another large key factor for doing a visual is due to the fact I am eight month pregnant and clearly not as agile as I used to be so a dance interpretation of my inquiry is somewhat out of the question.
Thinking back to our Skype session on the artefact I recall Adesola explaining that it should be told as a story so I definitely have this in mind as I prepare my artefact. I decided to plot my journey as a story board so I could utilise all of the information to not only draw my journey but to use it as a reminder when constructing my final essay.
I storyboarded as follows:
Page one highlighted my previous practice, my thoughts and other peoples opinions of me. I also referenced briefly the two previous modules as a motivator to myself.

This is hanging on the wall of our school as a reminder that we are always thinking about our students on a personal level, an important part of our school ethos. Secondly a drawn artefact is visually attractive to the students in the school and can be appreciated by staff and students alike.

Page two highlights my current practice with my thoughts, comments that I have heard from the students and an introduction to my inquiry process.
Page three focuses on the literature I have studied. I included my thoughts on what I learnt, themes and outcomes and how I intend to move forward with that information.
Page four focuses on the observation element of the inquiry. I have charted the pros and cons that came out of observations that were conducted on myself. Then I repeated the process on the observations that I had conducted on the other members of staff. I finished this by discussing my thoughts on what I had learnt.
Page five focuses on the last two elements of my inquiry, the interviews and the questionnaires. I again included my thoughts on what I had learnt and how I intend to move forward with that information.
Finally page 6 focused on what I had learnt and how I intend to continue my research once this inquiry is over. I have found some further literature that I intend to research afterwards in order to continue improving my practice.
I hope this can be of some use to people when moving forward on their BAPP journey's in the future. I enjoyed having this visual creation of my story so I could effectively plan my artefact. Creating a storyboard certainly helped create my final picture.
